First day of Kindergarten

Today was Daniel's first day of Kindergarten at Kellogg Elementary- the same school that I attended. He was placed in a K/1st combo class with Ms. Vargas and even has desks in his classroom. Daniel was excited to start school and not nervous or shy at all.

Goodbye, Summer!

Yesterday was the last day of summer vacation, and I have to say, our family had a really great summer filled with fun activities.

Getting to know our new neighbors, the Woods family.
Kendall and Peter.
Pool playdate with the moms from my MOPS table.

Music at the Ranch with friends.
Practicing paddling.
Fun with a Wonder Woman cape.
Lunch on the driveway.
Waiting for our homemade ice cream to be ready.
Cool guy.
At the drive-in movies waiting for "Planes" to start.

Owen and Kendall at Goleta Beach.
Washing off sand and dirt- signs of a good summer day.

Jumping in the bounce house.

I got to spend a week in Danville to meet/snuggle my new niece Paige and and play with big brother with Jack.

Meanwhile, back at home, Brian and the kids had fun adventures at the zoo...
and at the last Music at the Ranch.
I drove home from Danville in time for Caleb's birthday party- an outdoor movie, and the PERFECT way to end our summer.

Surf Camp

Daniel had a blast at surf camp this past week. He didn't know any of the other kids at camp and he was one of the youngest, but he wasn't scared or shy. He even surprised us by singing his preschool graduation song, "Mahalo" at the camp talent show!

First day of camp.
Ready for waves!

Daniel with one of his favorite instructors, Danny.

Waiting for the surf contest to start.
Daniel loved being pushed into waves by Branden more than anyone else. Branden knows Brian so he made sure to watch out for Daniel at camp. Daniel affectionately refers to him as "the funny guy!"
Daniel with surf instructor Fannie. Fannie took good care of Daniel during the week. She taught Daniel his new favorite phrase, "Buh-BAM!!"

Daniel with a new friend. Her mother told me that Daniel said to her daughter, "Maybe your mom should take a picture of us so you can remember me."
