Face paint?

Every time there is a face painter at a birthday party, festival, or other event I always ask Daniel if he is interested in getting his face painted. Every time, he refuses. So, when I picked him up from nursery school and I discovered his face was painted, albeit just a little- I had to document the occasion.  Right after I took this photo, Daniel insisted I wash off the paint.

Grandpa at Nursery School

Daniel's nursery school hosted a Dad's Day. Since Brian had to work, Daniel invited Grandpa. They had a great time doing art projects, building and painting an airplane, reading together, eating snacks, and working in the garden.

Easter

Our church holds their Easter morning service at the lagoon at UCSB. Since Brian had to work (boo!), my mom came with me and the kids.

The kids and I enjoying the service.

Pretty Easter baby.

After the service we decided to go to the Farmer's Market. My van's battery died so it was AAA to the rescue!

Daniel had a fantastic time hunting for the eggs he had colored in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard.

Daniel also enjoyed eating his finds!

Both kids eventually ended up in their undies/diapers to cool off at the water table.

Easter Egg Hunt

Daniel's nursery school is an outreach of Cambridge Drive Community Church and the church hosts a large egg hunt for the neighborhood each Easter. The bigger kids hunt for eggs out on the church's lawn while the little kids search for their eggs on the nursery school playground. It was a successful egg hunt with no visible tears, no pushy big kids (or parents!), lots of friends from our preschool and neighborhood and tons of eggs to go around.

Family photos in Hawaii

As a surprise for my mom, my sister arranged for a photographer to take some family photos. Val used her Oahu contacts (our cousin Wilfred) who put her in touch with his friend Tien Enga, a professional photographer.

More Hawaii!

More photos of our trip from Brian's camera:

Daniel was a huge fan of rinsing the sand off his feet.

The hammock in the backyard was ideal for napping.

My parents enjoying cocktails and the scenery with the littlest grandkids.

Kendall, notorious for her refusal to take naps, was lulled into sleep everyday in the hammock.

My mom sliding down the sand on a boogie board.

My dad taking a turn sliding.

Daniel cheering on Grandpa.
The best sandbox ever.

Kendall and Mommy.

Love this boy.

Love this girl too.

The kitchen boasted a fantastic view.

My mom and Carol. Best friends since junior high. Most beautiful 60 year old women I know!

Daddy's girl.

Baby Jack.
