Swim lessons
For the last few weeks, Daniel has been taking swim lessons at DP. He started off not being too fond of the pool. From the pool deck I had to detach him from my legs and drop him in the water to his instructor while he loudly protested. For the first week his lessons would consist of him holding on tightly to his instructor the entire time while he called out for us. Daniel would tell us that he wanted to be at the beach instead of swim lessons. We talked to him about how he needs to be able to swim if he wants to surf with his daddy. I'm so glad we stuck with it. Daniel has improved so much and is even having fun during his class. I don't have to worry anymore about dragging him to the pool while he tries to pull me in the opposite direction back to the parking lot. Even though he still begs to go to the beach, I think he is secretly enjoying the pool.

Snuggler
Unlike Daniel, Kendall does not like to snuggle. She is much more independent, preferring to be held facing outwards. Unless, you are pregnant! Kendall has loved snuggling up against Auntie Valerie's bump and Annie's bump- both in their third trimesters of pregnancy.

Little Helper
Tyler brought over some dirt today for our yard. Daniel grabbed his shovel and wheelbarrow to help out.

Music at the Ranch
One of our favorite summer traditions is attending the Music at the Ranch outdoor concert series. Every week we met the Voita's for a yummy picnic, good music, dancing, and people watching. The Damron family joined us a few times as well and all the boys had so much fun running around together. Thanks to Val Voita for the great photos.

Cousins in Summerland
My cousins Steve and Cris and their families joined us in Summerland for some fun at the beach. The day started out a little chilly and overcast but the clouds soon gave way to sunshine. Daniel loved playing with his older cousins. Later that evening we stopped by Steve & Evy's house so everyone could spend more time together. The adults enjoyed margaritas while the kids played and Cris' wife Treena (experienced madre of three kiddos) did a commendable job trying to calm Kendall down. The only way we get through Kendall's daily fussy time is with our own "Cocktail Hour". Though I'm not sure we will be invited back anytime soon due to Kendall's massive poopy diaper blow out all over the rug. Sorry guys- we owe you some carpet cleaner!
