Charley-Boy's 4th birthday was on May 29th. Charley was really our first "baby" and exposed us to the world of potty training, sleepless nights, and analyzing poop consistency and color. When we got Charley he was 6 weeks old and weighed only 8 pounds (he was the runt of the litter)- a good 2 pounds more than Daniel! Charley seems to have welcomed Daniel as a new addition to our "pack" family.

Meeting the Lums

Ashley's cousins Brian and Melissa came down from Davis on Memorial Day weekend to meet little Daniel. Ashley can still remember the first time she held baby Melissa at Cottage Hospital 19 years ago!

Daniel already looks up to cool cousin Brian and can't wait until he's old enough to hit the music scene with him.

Auntie Mary held Daniel throughout dinner. We wonder if her baby holding skills are available every night so that we can enjoy a meal with each other again!

Life of Daniel

Heading over to Grandma and Grandpa Kemmerer's for Daniel's first Bar-B-Que.

"Auntie" Stephanie and "Uncle" Andre came up from LA Memorial Day weekend to visit Daniel.

This was our first real outing with Daniel. We went to the Farmers Market Sunday the 25th. He slept the entire time!!

Uncle Jeff and Auntie Valerie came to visit from San Francisco two weeks in a row. They were a huge help!!!

Daniel loves them both soooo much and is looking forward to seeing them again at their wedding in August.

Home Life

We have been home now for 9 days and are just now getting into a good groove. Daniel is adjusting to the world and we are adjusting to parenting 24 hours a day. Daniel is a little miracle and we can't wait to introduce him to all of our friends and family.

Charley has been great with his new little brother Daniel. He loves to lick his feet and keep watch over him while he sleeps.

Welcome Daniel Kai!

Daniel Kai Switzer came into the world two weeks early on May 12th, 2008 at 11:05 a.m. after a beautiful, natural birth. He weighed 6 pounds and 10 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long and had a full head of hair. What an amazing day- after-Mother's Day present! Mommy and Daddy were thrilled to meet him!
